IMMERSIVE COMPUTATIONAL PERFORMANCE

We are excited to announce DNA Studio’s latest production, which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2024:

(Read the F***ing Manual)

In the heart of chaos and conflict, against the backdrop of war, a couple embark on a seemingly ordinary task: assembling an IKEA wardrobe.

Through the act of building – their furniture, life, and relationship – they discover that even in the darkest moments, there's hope.

The audience, assuming the role of a supportive community, becomes integral to the couple's journey, and with new spatial sound technology, sound takes on a living presence in the story.

RTFM investigates the juxtaposition of build and loss, offering a powerful exploration of humans' resilience in the face of adversity.

“We specialise in creating immersive experiences that questions human behaviours and cultural changes through performance art and interactive new media.”

Since 2015, we have been exploring multimedia and interactivity as a tool for pushing the boundaries of art, performance and the immersive experience.  We have been creating thought provoking performances with innovative technologies and performed at Tzavta theatre (Tel Aviv), Rich Mix (London), APT Gallery (London), Contact Theatre (Manchester), Camden’s People’s Theatre (London), Hundred Years Gallery (London), VSSL Live Art Club (London), OUTERNET (London). We play with narrative, technology and movement to create a new experience of creative-computational-performance.

955 ≤ 996 immersive performance

955 ≤ 996 is an interactive audiovisual physical theatre performance that provides a unique view of an employee in the race for success. A solo performance with a twist, 955 ≤ 996 creates an unprecedented dialogue between two performers: human and audiovisual, where live video loops of the performer are manipulated in real time. Throughout the performance, computers and cameras capture live video loops of the performer, process it in real time, and project it back on stage to interact with the performer. The work expands the concept of traditional performer's dialogue, and creates a new depth of play.

955 ≤ 996 is an innovative work that invites the audience to question, challenge, and see the person behind the job title, in order to make a change for our wellbeing in the workplace.

BEYOND THE GLASS

BEYOND THE GLASS By DNA Studio at Outernet London

Beyond the Glass is an immersive AI video-art installation commissioned by Sysco Productions for experiencing at OUTERNET LONDON. The work discusses the barriers women face in the workplace, represented by an imposing glass ceiling. In a dystopian future, a courageous young woman embarks on a journey that unfolds as she shatters the glass, forging a path of empowerment for herself and inspiring others. The video-art portrays the challenging  reality women face in their quest for senior positions and acknowledgment, reflecting on the future of women in the workplace. It calls for organisations to acknowledge and eliminate gender-based barriers, fostering an inclusive and equal workplace for all.

Created by combining real video footage with AI machine learning algorithms, the work invites the audience to move around the OUTERNET space, focusing on one screen or experiencing them all together. Beyond the Glass aims to spark a dialogue, drive change, and strive for a future where women's possibilities are unlimited by the barriers of today.
